Sproutpeople Home A Totally Unique "Sprouter" with a Bunch of Awesome Seeds! Micro-Greens are really just sprouts which grow vertically. These Micro-Greens grow in a moisture retaining medium - a felt pad with woven support. To harvest them you cut them just above the pad on which they've grown. They are the tiniest of plants - hence their name. Almost any tiny seed will grow in this way given the opportunity, but this is the absolute perfect way to grow seeds which can not grow in a traditional sprouter - like Arugula, Cress, Chia, Flax and other mucilaginous seeds. Well, it's one of our favorites anyway =:-) Arugula is a mucilaginous Brassica seed which produces a mild peppery flavored plant which is among the most gourmet of all salad greens. Arugula is also very high in antioxidant content (according to the University of Canada, SK). You simply must try the Arugula Micro-Greens!!!!! Broccoli The famous ultra-healthy sprouting Brassica is a great Micro-Green as well. This is here as a tribute to Owen Murphy who is responsible for the Miniature Garden Sprouter being in our inventory. This is his favorite Micro-Green and hey - its one tasty tiny plant!!! You're the sproutman Owen! Variety: Green Sprouting Calabrese Clover Our favorite basic leafy sprout makes a wonderful tiny green plant too! Red Clover Cress A pretty Spicy mucilaginous Brassica which, though little known here, is very popular & common in Europe. An impressive flavor which makes an impressive and aesthetic addition to any salad or sandwich. Variety: Curly Cress aka Pepper Grass Mustard Another Brassica with lots of flavor - this one tastes a lot like horseradish - mmmmmmmm!!! This is one of very few NON-mucilaginous Mustards. Type: Oriental Yellow Mustard Radish The biggest seed of the bunch, Radish is also a Brassica which produces an extremely flavorful plant though it should be noted that the Micro-Green version is a bit milder than the Sprout. Back in 2001 we were still using the phone. One day I was talking to a long-time customer while pushing my (then 4 year old) daughter on the swing in our backyard (this is what a mom n' pop business is like on the internet). It dawned on me that my priorities were severely messed up, so I stopped using the phone. I love to talk and I love to help, but my family would never see me if I picked up the phone again, and that's just wrong don't you think?!
