Here is a UPS Ground time-in-transit map

UPS is again raising their rates:
We'll pay an additional 5.9% in January, 2009.
That 5% is bigger every year

They also to add a "fuel surcharge" to every package.
This rate is supposed to fluctuate with the cost of fuel.
but it never goes down

We are trying to keep our UPS Rates down!
Many are paying less than we pay UPS.

We ship from San Francisco so there is a wide range when it comes to transit time
especially for UPS Ground service.
Shipping is painfully expensive.
Don't blame us! Blame the shipping companies!
We try to add a small handling charge to the shipping fee in an attempt to cover the cost of packaging. The box, packing peanuts, literature, our UPS account (they charge us more than just the cost of the package you know), bags, seed labels, tape, etc. - Those things cost too. The truth - we literally lose money on many of you (small town and rural customers everywhere considered "remote" by UPS and many of you out east). We have added a new UPS Ground choice for those along the west coast, so many of you folks are paying less than UPS charges us! So, we'll see if we make enough on shipping to pay our UPS bills, and we'll keep tweaking until we make it as fair as we can. We are not perfect, but we keep trying to do better.

We always ship your orders out as fast as we can - usually just 2-3 business days, but maybe as many as 5. We are just a family and things are very busy here at Sproutpeople, so it can take longer (your order receipt will say 10 business days, but that is basically an exageration just to cut us some slack), but you can usually count on us shipping in just 2-3 days.

We prefer to ship via UPS. We have no great love for the company (though our dog, Dobie does), but we have used them for many years and they make order processing easier than anyone. They pick-up daily, so in most cases you will get your order fastest if you choose UPS. It will certainly get out of our door fastest.

We ship postal orders once or twice a week, so choosing mail often delays your order. We wish it weren't so, but processing postal labels takes at least 10 times as long as processing UPS labels.

We do NOT ship UPS Ground to AK and HI
ALL International orders ship via the Postal Service.
